Travel is my favorite ,I love travel because I can touch some amazing views that I had never seen before.It's full of adventure and mistery. and you can know the different culture and people when you travel in other country.Among this,I think the
Great Wall of China is a miracle.Last year when I
travel to China,I was shaken by the
Great Wall of China.
The
Great Wall of China spans over 4000 miles and remains one of the great wonders of the world. The Arc shaped wall stretches from the Shanhaiguan Pass to Jiayuguan Pass. It covers such diverse Geographic features such as the yellow ridges at the Huangya Pass, the Ordos desert, across the Ju River, through cities and towns, mountain ranges in the Simatai and forests in Mutiany. The main regions covered are Hebei, Beijing Gansu, Shanxi and Shaanxi.
Great wall of China was an ancient gigantic defensive project. It is one of the largest construction projects ever completed. I heard that there're lots of people died in the prosess of fighting with the Great Wall.But in that cold weapon period,
Great Wall of China showed the huge defensive.When you travel to China,I suggest the Badaling Great Wall,because it is the most integrity one.
Badaling
Great Wall, is located at Yanqing County, over 70 kilometers northwest of the Beijing city center. It is in the Jundu mountain pass and built in 1505. It has an elevation of 600 meters with the average wall at 7.5 m high, 4 me thick, 6.5m wide at the base and 5.8m at the top. Badaling, which means "giving access to every direction", is the best-preserved section of the
Great Wall. It has a total length of 3, 741 meters with the highest part reaching 15 meters. The total area available for sightseeing is 19, 000 square meters. The top of the wall is wide enough for to fit five horses side by side. There are arched doors at the inner side of the wall that open into stone steps that lead to the top of the wall.
The Great Wall is not only manmade marvel but also the soul of China! Badaling is the best place to see this. Once you are at the top, you can see beautiful rolling hills and the Great wall stretching beyond with no visible end in sight. It is truly breathtaking.
Today, the
Great wall has lost its strategic importance and has become a world-renowned tourist attraction. The laboring people of different dynasties demonstrated their intelligence and wisdom while building this great project. They left behind a precious heritage deserving our everlasting care. Badaling section, Juyong pass and Cloud Terrace were listed as important historical monuments under special preservation by the Chinese government in 1961. The
Great Wall was listed by UNESCO in 1987 as one of the world heritages.So it is worth to have a look.
